The recovery process truly begins after detoxification. Our program is a psychotherapeutic one where clients come to recover and learn to live a substance free life. It is important to realize that emotional and physical discomfort may occur during the detoxification process creating a difficult transition into the therapeutic program without mixed feelings. When detoxification and therapy are approached in separate environments, you can leave behind those emotional and physical discomforts experienced during detox and enter a beautiful, gentle, stress-free environment to begin your healing process.
As Alternative Treatment International, Inc. is strictly a therapeutic program, clients must be detoxified and demonstrate no withdrawal symptoms upon admission and arrival at the facility. Any individual who presents in an intoxicated state or with withdrawal symptoms, no matter how slight, will not be admitted, but will be transported to a local hospital for medical care.
Medication Instructions
As A.T.I. is not a medical facility, it is imperative that any medications a client has been prescribed prior to entering our treatment program which will be brought to the facility, be in the original prescription bottle(s) or package. The purpose of this is for safety and verification of medications, and to efficiently facilitate the tracking of the status of the client's medication at all times.
Clients accepted for admission to the program and bringing prescribed medications with them will be required to bring a 30 day supply only. Medications over a thirty day supply will be disposed of during the intake process.
Clients accepted for admission to the program will be requested not to bring over-the-counter medications or vitamins of any kind. If over-the-counter medications or vitamins are needed, the Medical Director will evaluate and recommend as needed.
Additionally, if clients wish to take any over-the-counter medications and/or vitamins, the client must bring an order from their physician. Over-the-counter medications and vitamins will also need to be secured with all other medications and medication monitoring procedures followed while the client is in treatment.
